Elbdeich Reederei was founded in 2004 by Peter Frese and fellow shipowners and is today fully owned by the Frese family.
Our company specializes in the operation of medium-sized and smaller feeder vessels and has developed over the years into one of the leading tonnage providers of container ships for European feeder trades. Through the continuous sale and purchase of second-hand tonnage and the ordering of new energy-efficient vessels from Asian shipyards, we are constantly adapting our fleet to changing market conditions and regulatory challenges.
Via our in-house technical management provider USC Barnkrug, we offer a wide range of commercial and technical services for our own tonnage and third-party vessels. In doing so, we ensure adherence to the highest quality and safety standards, reliable operational readiness of the vessels, stability among our ship crews and professional operational management of our ships for our customers.
Our fleet composition focuses on commercially attractive ships for our charter customers, e.g. through ECO-features, dual-fuel propulsion systems, high ice class and optimized container capacities (especially 45-foot containers), in order to remain competitive in an increasingly demanding environment.
